About Me

I still have Colorado crisp mountain air in my lungs and heart, even though I now love my life in Texas. Do you ponder like I do? I write to put word circles around my wild thoughts. Thanks for reading.

Hope for New Beginnings

When I was young, I dreamt of travels, of independence, of glorious freedom to be and to go and to do whatever I wanted someday.

When I grew up, responsibilities took front seat, and the cost of life and the adventure of jobs and careers filled my focus as I worked, tried to save, and eventually joined my life with another's and we faced a future together.

Instead of traveling, we chose to live where everyone would love to travel. And we loved it. We never took it for granted. I gasped at every sunrise, sunset, and starlit night. I never was sad that we didn't vacation much because I lived exactly where I would have taken those vacations had I lived in the city.

So we lived and loved and played. Horse riding, skiing, dog chasing, kid raising, house building, and working to hold onto it all became our life.

But then transition came. Life dealt blows we could not survive, and we were instantly thrown into a whirlwind of change that lasted more than a decade.

Many call this a period of transition, challenge, change. I choose to call it adventure.

We were not alone. After the economic downturn after 2008, many experienced what we did and lives took on new perspective and work took on new meaning. Distress, loss, and crisis gave way to creativity, innovation, and new places to live. How did we all survive?

My new blog will show you what people did to recover, renew, and redefine life. Every week I will feature another friend - people like you and me - who recreated their life and themselves. They made lemonade from lemons; gained strength they never knew they had; and found a new way in this wonderful world we call the abundant life. It's a place Jesus taught us to pursue and to capture - our place in the kingdom this side of heaven. This is the niche, the people and the timeline this blog will cover.

Watch for some great stories of hope.
